WebsiteBusaras is Dublin's main bus station, located behind the Custom House and near the Liffey. Completed in 1953, it has weathered a storm of public derision from its inception, though Irish architecture students are required to study it as a fine example of Early Modernism. The interior is drab, offering limited facilities. A modest newsagent, bookshop and snack bar provide basic needs, while the helpful information desk gives guidance on bus routes and general tourist queries. The Airlink Express coach to Dublin Airport leaves every 20-30 minutes. Many other bus routes depart from Busaras, including services to Belfast and other British destinations. Departure platforms are frequently changed at the last minute. Go to the designated platform early and wait. An inspector will guide passengers to the appropriate platform if there has been a change. Busaras has a deserved reputation for petty crime and the surrounding area is unsavoury at night.
