Website | EmailThai Baan is a taste of Bangkok in the heart of the Altstadt. The owners of this Thai-restaurant have quite literally worked as missionaries spreading the word on Thai cuisine! From the moment when Baan Thai opened, 25 years ago, the people of the Rhineland began to overcome their sceptical views on Thai food and developed a taste for it. It seems it was worth the risk: the restaurant, which is beautifully decorated with wooden fittings and furniture and greenery in the 'Pagoden' style is always busy.The Thai dishes, served by a predominately female Thai staff are prepared creatively and are delicious. For those who are not experts on the ins and outs of Thai cuisine, a number of set menus are offered: (EUR 32-45) which include a wide range of their specialties. The drinks menu includes imported Thai bottled beer (EUR 3.60).
