At Winter Glen, traditional Scottish fare is given a modern make-over, so don't expect any stodgy stereotypes. Amidst a comforting contrast of elegant furnishings and rough stone walls, you can enjoy a menu boasting the freshest of locally sourced ingredients whipped up into contemporary dishes such as "chicken breast marinated in chilli and lime, presented on spiced purée of butter beans and sauced with a coriander jus". Some vegetarian dishes are always available. Incidentally, the name comes from an amalgamation of the owners' surnames, so don't expect to find the restaurant in a woodland clearing covered with a blanket of snow!
