The Oriental Veggie House is a small, sparkling clean, storefront establishment, tucked into a busy Chinatown block. It features a no-nonsense decor, dressed up a bit with white tablecloths. The menu consists of meat-free or meat-like dishes. Using healthy substitutes, like bean curd (tofu) and wheat gluten, the chefs create vegetarian meat, fish, and seafood, and offer these items in dishes such as veggie wonton in hot and sour soup, veggie lamb hot pot, and veggie duck with lemon sauce.
