All Saint's Day
National Holiday
Various venues
Firenze, Florence
For most Catholics, All Saints Day is a day of prayer and remembrance. Families visit cemeteries, candles are lit, flowers are placed on graves, and mass is attended. Although the celebration is held over two days, only November 1st is a legal holiday. Some public transportation is rerouted to provide easier access to cemeteries. As one of the most important holidays in Italy, more candles and wreaths are sold on this day. It is celebrated throughout Florence.
