This festival features a variety of stalls selling lucky singing crickets in cages, a tradition that dates back to the 19th century. What started as a festa where Florentines gathered in the park to enjoy a day out playing and eating with the children catching crickets, soon grew into the establishment of stalls selling the "lucky" insects. Today, the cages do not contain live crickets anymore, but artificial ones, but they still make noise and bring you good luck! Additional festival activities include music and food throughout the day. Admission is free.
