Website | EmailThis famous cycle race was founded in 1962 by the Henninger Brewery as a publicity stunt. The trick certainly worked, as the race is now one of the top events on Germany's cycling calendar and attracts some of the biggest names in cycling. Former Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich is a regular participant. The 210km-long course starts at the Henninger Turm in the district of Sachsenhausen, leads through the city of Frankfurt, up Mount Feldburg (800m, the highest mountain in the region) and back to the Henninger Turm. The race takes place on May Day every year.
