Website | EmailBe it a foreign classic or a local favorite, all plays here are performed in the local dialect. The Volkstheater was founded by the well-known Frankfurt actress, Liesel Christ, more than a quarter of a century ago. All shows are performed completely in dialect, which is not only used for Goethe's Faust, but also for works by Shakespeare or contemporary pieces by Berthold Brecht. The theater group has been so successful that they appear in guest productions throughout the region. The open-air performances in the summer are especially popular.
