Today there are over 5,500 pieces in this building which is in the old city. Among the masks, the jewellery, the sculptures, one can see a unique collection of Indonesian megalithic monuments. There are also some unique pieces of pre-colombian art. The museum has also acquired a worldwide reputation for publishing impressive art catalogues and books, and for staging two special exhibitions per year.
