Website | EmailFirst held in 1993, Glasgay! is Scotland's international celebration of queer culture. Now well into its second decade, the festival has expanded to one month in length, and is held in over 20 venues across the city of Glasgow. It's the largest multi-art form festival of its kind in Europe, offering an eclectic programme of performance, film, theatre, music, dance, comedy, club nights and literature events. In addition, there are four months of visual arts at the Q! Gallery, Glasgay's space dedicated to queer art and artists. Glasgay! Celebrates talent and diversity within the professional international lesbian and gay artistic community, as well as providing a platform for emergent artists. The last two years have broken previous records, and you can get a good idea about our eclectic programme from some of the titles of past shows, including Deep Rimming in Poplar, Balletstar Galactica, Die, Mommie, Die, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, and The History Boys. The full festival programme is released in July, detailing all the theatre, music, dance, comedy, film and clubs jostling for attention in the manic assault on the artistic senses. Keep an eye on the Glasgay! website for breaking news.
