This free annual event promotes the use of the bicycle for environmental and health benefits. Up to 60 organisations usually attend, including Friends of the Earth, The Variety Club of Great Britain, Strathclyde Police, Radio Clyde and Glasgow City Council. It is very much a family event, with stalls, competitions, races and rides of differing degrees of difficulty so that any cyclist will find something to enjoy. Glasgow Cyclefest is held in association with the West End Festival so a carnival atmosphere prevailed throughout the whole area.
