The centre is housed in Garnethill Synagogue, which opened in 1879 and is the oldest in the country. The collection includes mounted displays as well as the historical database of Scottish Jewry, which has information on more than 16,000 people, making it a valuable source for those who are trying to trace their roots. It's only open by prior arrangement so phone before you visit.
