A far more informal atmosphere prevails downstairs in what was once the ticket hall, where you can choose from a varied menu with a Mediterranean theme. A selection of tapas makes a tasty light lunch, or if the journey has worked up more of an appetite (Hillhead is the nearest underground stop but to be frank, it's still a 15-20 minute walk), a plate of pasta fills the void nicely. Although cheaper than Lux, they don't skimp on service and you can expect the same pampering as upstairs, even down to the free glass of kir and bowl of olives while you look at the menu.
