One of the longest-standing Italian restaurants in Glasgow and still owned by the Equi family, Ciao Italia has not only survived but even thrived since it was established in 1954. The secret of their success is a comprehensive menu (seafood, steaks, the classics), reliably excellent food prepared from fresh and often locally sourced ingredients, and an atmosphere that is both friendly and courteous. The exterior suggests a slightly tacky cafe but once you get inside, the vaulted ceilings and chandeliers in their gorgeous Victorian dining room are a foretaste of the classy confidence of the cuisine.
