An offshoot of the ever-popular Mother India, this is exactly what it says it is - a wee curry shop. The diminutive proportions help maintain a nice cosy atmosphere, as do the highly desirable prices. It sells huge portions of delicious authentic home-cooked Indian food for less than a mediocre takeaway would cost elsewhere. The menu is brief but incorporates a good vegetarian choice. The a la carte main courses are about a fiver each but there are also special set three-course lunches and pre-theatre deals and you can bring your own bottle for a measly 95p corkage. It's a favourite amongst students and film buffs (the GFT is round the corner) as well as all gourmets on a budget.
