The idea for this luxurious restaurant came from the supper clubs of the 1930s and 40s and it's usually booked a week in advance. The dress code requires that diners don their best evening-wear. Plush carpets, heavy soft backed chairs, starched table cloths and a piano from which the strains of Frank Sinatra and Nina Simone can be heard create an ambiance akin to the restaurant sets on Casablanca. The restaurant is on two levels and looks out onto Merchant Square. The menu offers a selection of steaks with a few extra touches which enhance the exclusivity and elegance of the surroundings. If you don't fancy steak, try a special grill or the vegetarian dish of the day. Sweets change daily, and there are 14 types of coffee.
