This magnificent soccer club was founded in the mid-1950s and has become the pride of all islanders. It had a run of good form before reaching the national club championships in 1971 and then suffered a terrible losing streak and fell into the lower divisions. After languishing there for a decade, the club has risen once again to the heights of the First Division. The fans have always remained faithful to their team and are now enjoying a euphoric period when they can wear the yellow and blue colours with pride. It's worth attending a game in the Estadio Insular to experience the passion and sense of fun that this sport ignites among the locals.
