WebsiteDuring the last week of June every year, Grand Bahama Island is host for the Bahamas Regatta. Spectators from across the Caribbean come to view the traditional Bahamian vessels. A host of parades and festivals accompany the regatta. Onlookers in Port Lucaya Marina enjoy watching the yachtsmen (and women) prepare each morning for the start of the day's racing, and then await their return each evening at sunset. Some of the marina's yachtsmen will be chosen to crew in the regatta but spots are limited.
