The local mail boat, The Fiesta, provides service between Nassau and Grand Bahama Island four times a week and the trip takes six to seven hours, depending on the weather. For more information, contact their offices at (242) 352 8468 in Freeport and (242) 328 0832 in Nassau.

Transportation by private boat or plane is also possible.

By car:


Renting a car is a convenient way for you and a group of your friends or family to explore more of the island on your own time.

By motor scooter:

Motor scooters are available for rental at many of the most popular tourist centers. Renting a motor scooter gives you and a passenger the freedom to buzz around town and the countryside looking for that perfect, quiet beach spot.

By Bicycle:

In the Lucaya area, there is an official cycling path on Midshipman Road. Most hotels have bicycles for rent— USD 20 per day with a USD 50 deposit.

Keep in mind that British rules apply on the road.
