Cricket is an English game that has spread throughout the world, and it is the second most popular sport outside North America (the most popular being soccer). It has been described as baseball played with a hockey stick and equipment. The Lucaya Cricket Club, home to the island’s team, opened up in 1982 and is the place to watch the game. Training is on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, but twice a year the club hosts a tournament. The May Festival hosts teams from the UK, USA, Hong Kong and other Caribbean islands. Another tournament takes place during Thanksgiving weekend. Specific date to be determined.
