On the North Kaibab Trail, 16.6 miles from the Bright Angel trail-head, this campground is the last South Rim encampment before you start the ascent to the North Rim. It is open year-round, but the ranger station is closed from November-April. Fourteen campsites are available, but no water or toilet facilities are provided. A backcountry permit is required, which may be purchased at the Backcountry Information Center.
