WebsiteThe Museum of Modern Art was originally set up in the city center in 1934 by the Friends of the Arts Committee, and was moved to its present site in 1968. The architecture of this building dates from the 1930s, and under President Jorge Ubico it was used as a ballroom and reception hall. After refurbishment at various times, the museum is now in good condition and is used to display a permanent collection of Guatemalan art and sculpture.
