Website | EmailBirdland is one of the most renowned jazz clubs in town. Located in the neighbourhood of Eimsbüttel, it prides itself on past performances by many a well-known artist. The Birdland crew is open to many musical styles, from swing to mainstream. There can be a bebop combo on the programme one night, and a Latin or hard-bop band the next. Make sure you don't miss the popular regular jam and vocal sessions; you can check the current programme on the club's homepage. Admission depends on the artist, but is always moderately priced. There are concessions for students, and members of the Jazz Federation Hamburg e.V. get in free. Tickets are sold at the usual box offices like Collien, Schumacher and Central, plus at Birdland itself.
