Website | EmailLocated right downtown and close to all the Hilo action, this hostel is great value for the money. It is in a restored 1913 hotel turned speakeasy, full of rich wood and with a cozy mood. The common area is open and bright, the kitchen is fairly big, and the travelers friendly. The shared washrooms are not bad and kept clean, but can be a touch cramped in the mornings and evenings. One note: bring earplugs, as the downtown traffic can be bothersome while trying to sleep. - Nora Dunn
