WebsiteMore than 400 cyclists from across Australia descend on Tasmania for nine days each summer to pedal their way 530km around some of the loveliest scenery imaginable. Child or grandparent, it does not matter. The only prerequisite is a love of the outdoors and a willingness to have a good time. A well-organised programme sees each stage carefully prepared, and support vehicles and caterers ensure that sufficient fuel is available for the next day's ride. Tent cities spring up each night on community ovals and as it is not a race, you can reach the day's destination as slowly as you like. Entry fees: AUD575-AUD615 adult.
