This self-guided tour takes about two hours. A cassette tape, (available at Tasmanian Visitor Centre in Hobart, or the Forest and Heritage Centre in Geeveston), and informative signposts, help visitors experience the history of the forests in Tasmania. Some of Tasmania's earliest and biggest sawmills once occupied this area and along the drive visitors discover the history of logging, information on harvesting and regeneration, as well as forest management presented against the backdrop of this beautiful regenerated forest. Near the end of the tour is a lovely spot for a picnic lunch.
