As pretty as a country race track, with mountain and river views, this course remembers its past but looks to the future. The heritage grandstand has been retained, but new facilities, including an airy yet covered bookmakers' ring, makes a trip to the races comfortable in all weather. Lawned areas sweep down to the mounting ring, birdcage and the enclosures. Three public lounges and two dining areas are in addition to members' facilities. Race meetings are usually held on Saturday afternoons, except for special events such as the Hobart Cup.
