WebsiteThe shire of Kingborough has at its heart the town of Kingston, but its area extends from Taroona, near Hobart, to the edges of the Huon Shire over 60 kilometres away. There is a great deal of aquaculture in the bays and inlets of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island. Oysters and mussels are farmed, and round pens house the fish stocks which for the famed Tasmanian Atlantic salmon. The visitor to the shire will enjoy exploring the bays and beaches, driving through the fruit orchards and vineyards or visiting the parks and marinas that are dotted throughout the district.
