Cricket watchers will be familiar with the view across the river towards Hobart from the Church Street end of the oval. Home of Tasmanian cricket and the Tasmanian Tigers, international and domestic first-class cricket matches are played here in summer. In winter, the oval is the home to Clarence District Football Club. A major upgrade of facilities is underway, including provision for night matches. Capacity is approximately 15,000 in the stands and on the hill.
