If a tour south from Hobart is on the agenda, one does not want to miss a stop off at this very popular local venue. Located in the central shopping area, Chill has a huge lot of free parking, allowing plenty of time to enjoy a full breakfast, lunch, or possibly some home-made scones with jam and cream. The gourmet omelet, with mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, and capsicum is divine, as are the eggs benedict, with smoked salmon, or bacon stacked high, with crusty bread, and perfectly cooked eggs dripping in hollandaise. All of the luscious dessert choices are made on the premises. There is a small, well chosen, reasonably priced wine list. From five o'clock on Friday and Saturday nights a selection of tasty pasta dishes are available. - Janice Barton
