This venue has undergone several incarnations and this latest one seems to fit very well. New furniture, a new bar and better than average pub food is becoming very popular with the locals even during the week. Please bring your appetite as the portions are not for the faint hearted. The beef schnitzel will overhang the plate and you might need a step ladder for the melt in your mouth chicken parmigiana which comes with fries and a large salad. The house white is a very nice Sauvignon Blanc which is very reasonably priced as are the other possible drink choices. There are large screen TVs for your entertainment and you might want to stop by on a Wednesday for their free poker night. A very short four block walk from central Hobart will bring you to the door. - Janice Barton
