Built by a Frenchman, this French imperial mansion passed through several hands - the Turkish Consul, the Civil Defense Force and finally the Indonesian government, for conversion into the Textile Museum in 1976. The museum explores the history and production of various traditional fabrics, displaying more than 1,000 objects from all provinces of Indonesia. Some of these date back to the 18th century. A library on-site contains historical data relating to the objects and photographs on display. Flash photography is forbidden.
