Holy Week marks the period between Palm Sunday and Easter, when Christians worldwide commemorate the events of Jesus' last days. Solemn liturgies and other services are held in the various churches. A detailed schedule is issued annually by the Christian Information Centre, and is accessible from their Web site. Highlights include the foot-washing ceremony at the Holy Sepulchre on Holy Thursday, the Way of the Cross procession along the Via Dolorosa on Good Friday, and Easter Vigil liturgies that take place at midnight. The dates of Holy Week commemorations vary from year to year. Orthodox and Roman Catholic observances do not always coincide.
