This is a celebration of renewal. It occurs with the New Moon in March or April, and has in the past, been repressed by governments trying to stifle the Jewish celebrations. The celebration specifically of Nisan is literally the 'first month' and begins at sundown the day before till sundown on the day of holiday. If you go to the Hulda Gates near the Western Wall in Jerusalem, you will see a re-enactment of the customs that are part of this holiday. No admission is charged.
