In the West Bank just a short ride away from Jerusalem, this is a very prosperous Palestinian town, best known for its bazaar-filled city centre. It is worth visiting to benefit from great shopping prices. The city offers specialty shops and cheap, good restaurants, as well as a wide range of hotels which offer a change of scenery for a night or two. There are nightclubs, the Al Kasba theatre and a cinema offering both Hollywood and Eastern movies. Take a shared taxi from Damascus Gate in the Old City, to get there (10 miles).
