Built in 1961, this complex was used for the trial of Nazi War Criminal Adolf Eichmann. Following the trial, the Behar family, who lost their son, Gerard, in the Holocaust, provided the money to establish an arts centre here in his name. In recent years, the municipality added the Central Library of Jerusalem and an adult education centre to the complex. There is a large theatre seating 650 people, which is used for drama, dance and stand-up peformances. The smaller theatre, which seats 200, is used for experimental pieces. The centre is home to two dance companies, Vertigo and Combina, who have their studios here. There are free exhibitions almost every week, normally showcasing art and photography work by locals, with occasional international exhibits.
