Wandie's is a successful restaurant catering mainly for tourists eager to soak up the sights and sounds of the township. None of that anti-social grabbing of small tables here. Diners eat at communal tables in this modestly appointed restaurant, where the food and friendly service is allowed to shine. Apparently, luminaries such as Quincy Jones, Dionne Warwick and Richard Branson have enjoyed meals at Wandie's. Wandie's caters for the diner who wants to sample a taste of Africa. Tuck into some beef or lamb stew, tripe, fish or chicken, accompanied by some good old South African mielie pap (savory stiff porridge).
