Kukup, a tiny fishing town on the southern end of Malaysia's western coast, is situated approximately 90 minutes by car from Johor Bahru. It has become a popular destination for seafood, particularly for Singaporeans (a direct ferry connection operates from Singapore daily). The Kukup Golf Resort is a popular destination for affordable golf. A short distance from town lies Kampung Ayer Masin, a Chinese village built entirely on stilts and inhabited mostly by fishermen and seafood breeders. Holiday chalets and several seafood restaurants reside here.
