Lido Beach begins a short distance away from the War Memorial along the coastal road in the direction of the northern towns. A long and narrow stretch of sandy shore has been mercifully preserved and the beach regularly plays host to the beach parties of civil servants and their families. During major local festivals like Hari Raya, makeshift hawkers line the coastal pavement selling delicious snacks and kueh. The best part of Lido Beach is its balmy, laid-back charm and role as an idyllic locale for a leisurely stroll.
