If you can only make it to one festival, this is the one to aim for. Malaysia Fest, or Pesta Malaysia, is a two-week event held in September each year. The event was first held in 1987 with the objective of creating awareness and appreciation of Malaysian culture, craft and cuisine. There are many cultural shows and demonstrations of Malaysian handicrafts from all 13 states of Malaysia. You will find the streets beautifully decorated with colourful lights, while shopping complexes and hotels compete for the creative light-decorations award.
