This celebration started off to rival the famous Samba Parade of Rio de Janeiro. More than 2,000 representatives from the media, travel agencies and airline industry are invited. Celebrations take place in all states. Visitors can expect to enjoy a colourful display of culture, arts and centuries-old traditions by multiracial and multi—ethnic communities. The theme is "Citrawarna Malaysia" or "Colours of Malaysia". Different ethnic groups from various states don their respective costumes and perform traditional dances, stage plays and cultural activities.
