This delightful Thai festival pays homage to the Mother of Waters. Elaborately celebrated at the Wat Chetawan temple in Gasing heights, chanting and blessings are followed by devotees circling the grounds three times before following the chief Abbot to a nearby lake to float their krathongs (small lotus-shaped offerings containing incense, a candle and a coin). When devotees release their krathongs, it symbolizes a tribute to Lord Buddha and accumulated sins of yesteryear float away. Takes place in various venues.
