This is one of the significant occasions for Muslims. Nuzul Quran commemorates the day whereby the first revelation from God was sent down to his messenger, Prophet Muhammad. The day is observed on the 16th day of the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which happens to be the fasting month of Ramadhan. Sermons and religious discussions held in public places and mosques as well as recital of the Koran are common practice during this day.
