WebsiteOwned by Hussein Marafie, this is the world’s largest wooden cargo vessel. Listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, the double decked Al-Hashemi II is parked next to the Radisson SAS Hotel and the Marine Museum. The wood used in its construction that started in 1997, has been specially sourced from Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Oregon, USA. The ship stretches 83.75 metres in length and 18.5 metres in width and has many interesting features. The various halls it houses—Conference Hall and the 1,200 square metres Grand Ballroom are used for important events like conferences, weddings and theatre.
