February 25th is a day of pride for all Kuwaitis. It is the day they gained independence and signifies the birth of the nation. The citizens celebrate National Day by visiting near and dear ones. The city comes alive with cheerful flag waving crowds, public gatherings and pretty fireworks. You will find the streets filled with people wearing their traditional national costume with such huge smiles illuminating their faces, that the illuminated buildings seem dull in comparison!
