Major Religious Festival
Throughout the city
Kuwait,
A major Muslim festival, Eid al Fitr marks the end of the month of Ramadan. After the fasting that occurs during the Ramadan period, Eid al Fitr is a real feast. This festival is celebrated with great pomp, joy and delicious feasts. As this day is a symbol of the gifts and happiness people have received from God, revelers visit their friends and relatives dressed in their finest and laden with many presents. Generally it is a custom to donate money or food to the poor so that they too can participate in this important celebration. Visitors should note that there is a three day holiday in the city. The dates for Eid al Fitr change every year and depend on the Islamic calendar.
