Lovers of Islamic art can spend hours delving into the comprehensive Al-Sabah collection as well as other precious Islamic art that the museum displays. Although the museum was looted, burned and destroyed by Iraqi invaders, efforts to restore most of the artifacts and important materials were made. Even today there's plenty to do and view at the four buildings and the planetarium that make up the National Museum. So, even if you're not very well-versed in Islamic culture and history, a visit to this museum can provide you more than enough information on the subject!
