With a lineage filled with sea men and pearl merchants, Saif Marzooq Al-Shamlan provided detailed information about the pearling industry in the first few decades of the pearling industry. He has written various books and conducted television programs based on his personal archive. The Saif Marzooq Al-Shamlan Museum boasts of a huge collection of important documents relating to this industry. Various antiques like old currencies, a gold rifle, Al-mahafah (a fan made of fabrics or leaves), among others are on display here. If you are interested in maritime archeology, this museum is definitely worth a visit.
