WebsiteElton John is an authentic musical icon who's been wowing audiences for nearly four decades. Evergreen hits like "Honky Cat," "Rocket Man," "Crocodile Rock," and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," make Elton John one the most air-played artists on FM radio coast-to-coast. In concert he is always a sell out, never failing to blow his fans out of their seats. His latest show, Elton John and the Red Piano at Caesars Palace Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, continues his tradition of world-class entertainment excitement. Red Piano does not have quite the flash of past Elton John shows. His wardrobe is toned down a few notches from his notorious flowing robes and day-glo colors that were in the tradition of Liberace. Instead of the over-the-top decor and dress up, Elton John and the Red Piano display stunning staging (under the direction of David LaChapelle) photographs and videos illustrating the entertainer's history, as well as highlights of the planet as we have known it for four decades. It is a tour-de-force as well as a tour-de-world. Vietnam war video images for the signature ballad "Daniel," for instance, are a poignant interlude leaving few dry eyes in the house. "Candle in the Wind (Goodbye Norma Jean)" backed by Marilyn Monroe photographs and "Goodbye England's Rose" (his 1997 remake of "Candle in the Wind) with Princess Diana footage remind us with both sight and sound what we have lost. Elton John and the Red Piano is presented in The Colosseum At Caesars Palace, previous home to Celine Dion. Performances: Through June 22 Tickets: $100-$250
