Website | EmailHidden in the basement of the Metropolitan University, Student Books is a friendly and well-stocked second-hand bookshop with a fast turnover of books. Contrary to its name, it is open to the general public so it's definitely worth seeking out if you want to buy books at an unbelievably low price. In addition to academic texts, it stocks second-hand paperback literature, including a wide range of science fiction and detective novels. It also has an impressive history section. On the academic side, the shop usually has a particularly good selection of medical, legal, marketing, accounting and I.T. textbooks and also stocks texts on less mainstream subjects, including gay studies and women's studies.
